...Cheese?

Starbase 777 was tasked with going aboard the Mind Trip, an entertainment vessel. Protective gear was necessary, as an unknown biohazard was in the air, yellow mushrooms and blue mold sprouting from trails of slime. Scanning the fungi revealed trace amounts of dairy in the compound, and the spores seemed to block long-range communications and scans. 

The away team crossed the paths of many automatons in uniform, which would quickly turn hostile by some unknown factor. Encountering the AI core revealed that the fungus was some sort of biotech that had merged with the ship, and consequently the hologram that assisted in running things. It had wedged itself into the very structure of the ship, coating everything in spores and sticky, possibly delicious fungus-cheese-slime. It had also become the habitat for many small, tentacled fungus-creatures, which had been smuggled on board to be seemingly trafficked by the ship’s owner.

 A solution was decided — fix the ship, set up an environment for the creatures in the holodeck while they awaited passage home. The Mind Trip spent some time in 777’s ship hospital before she was on her way.
