Investigating the mysterious disappearance of all of the officers aboard Starbase 777, a small group of civilians set off to follow a strange path of spotlights that lead to the event hall. It had been turned into a stage of sorts— and with the all grandiosity of a ringmaster, an eccentric Q revealed herself, prompting the civilians to join her in a game of murder mystery, of which she would be the victim. Their task was simple; use the clues to identify the killer among them, and bring them to the event hall to be properly accused. With a threat against their and the missing officers’ lives forcing them to comply, they reluctantly began to play…

The entertainment section of Starbase 777 opened; the events hall (turned into a detective office), the casino, the holoarcade, the bar, and the nightclub all full of evidence in the form of eyewitness accounts and physical clues alike. Additionally, each location carried at least one Q in costume— a detective, a casino employee, a security officer, a bartender, and a bouncer, while Q  “prime” played the part of the corpse for the majority of the investigation, though would later leave another clone to it while she annoyed the participants.

The clues slowly came together, red herrings tossed aside in favor of pursuing the truth. At the end of it all, nervous the Q would make them all play again, and again, and again if they failed, the civilians gathered, putting the final puzzle piece in place and pointing their fingers at the accused. Q congratulated them on their victory, excitedly questioning if they’d had fun, and seemingly confused when the response was less than enthusiastic. She became frustrated, not understanding that being kidnapped and forced to play a game was hardly the ideal scenario, and vanished with a promise to return with a better game.
